Supply Chain Management of Thai Dainty Banana Mung District Chanthaburi Province

Abstract

The aim of this research to analyze the supply chain of lady finger bananas and find guidelines for improve supply chain management in Chantaburi province. The researcher study with related person who work in supply chain from upstream to downstream by using analysis of supply chain management that to search a related person of supply chain correct. The finding way to solve supply chain improvement of lady finger bananas. The researcher used value chain analysis theory that applies to adaptation. The result of this research found the chain of lady finger bananas in Chantaburi province included banana growers, cooperative, middle man, merchant exporters, domestic trader and foreign trader. The guidelines for improve supply chain management of lady finger bananas in Chantaburi province that analyzes by the supply chain. In production part, growers should care more the quality of bananas because if they found sooty mole disease, it makes the weight is not standard that the value of the bananas and income of grower will decrease. The grower should have the plan to produce product off-season to get higher banana prices. In marketing part, grower should have strong integrations, find markets that are not through middlemen and do not make long-term contracts Chinese traders because it causes market disruption.
