The Effects of the Plan-Do-Review Art Activities on Reasoning Thinking of Preschool Children at Wat Thamaprang School in Saraburi Province

Abstract
The purposes of this research were (1) to compare reasoning thinking scores of preschool children at Kindergarten 1 level of Wat Thamaprang School in Saraburi province before and after undertaking the plan-do-review art activities; (2) to compare reasoning thinking scores of preschool children at Kindergarten 2 level of Wat Thamaprang School in Saraburi province before and after undertaking the plan-do-review art activities; and (3) to compare reasoning thinking gain scores of preschool children at Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2 levels of the school after undertaking the plan-do-review art activities. The research sample comprised 25 preschool children studying at Kindergarten 1 level and 26 preschool children studying at Kindergarten 2 level in the second semester of the 2016 academic year at Wat Thamaprang School in Saraburi province, obtained by cluster sampling. The employed research instruments were (1) handbooks and activities management plans for the plan-do-review art activities for Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2 levels; (2) a reasoning thinking test for preschool children at Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2 levels. Statistics used for data analysis were the mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The research findings showed that (1) the post-activities reasoning thinking mean score of preschool children at Kindergarten 1 level after undertaking the plan-do-review art activities was significantly higher than pre-activities counterpart mean score at the .01 level; (2) the post-activities reasoning thinking mean score of preschool children at Kindergarten 2 level after undertaking the plan-do-review art activities was significantly higher than pre-activities counterpart mean score at the .01 level; and (3) the reasoning thinking mean gain scores of preschool children at Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2 levels after undertaking the plan-do-review art activities were significantly different at the .01 level.
