A Composition of Sukhothai Thao

Abstract

​The objective of this academic article is to create Sukhothai Thao Song. Sukhothai Thao song is creatively composed “based on Thep Thong song”,extended into the double and triple levels of the rhythm. Sukhothai Thao isNa Thap Prop Kai style song with a quintuple rhythm and Khmer beat. It is classified in the Siang Thang Nai feature (GABDE). The first melody is adapted as Thang Phuen song, while the second  is dynamically followed Thang Plian pattern.


In terms of the composition, it draws inspiration from Sukhothai’s slogan, which is interpreted regarding to the key terms. that are creatively and correctly rearranged in accordance with Thai prosody, following the structure of octameter poem. This type of the poem is famously composed as Thai Derm. The lyric aims to narrate Sukhothai province such as its identity, history, sigfinificance, and pride.
