A Follow-up Study of Bachelor Degree of Graduates in Library and Information Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, PhranakhonRajabhat University in Academic Year 2014

บทคัดย่อ

This research is a mixed method research by qualitative
and quantitative research. The aims are to study the working
condition of Libraries and Information Sciences graduate students
in B.E. 2557 with the suggestion, and to study the way to improve
teaching and learning management of the major sample groups
in the quantitative research are 17 graduate students majoring
in Libraries and Information Sciences, Facultyof Humanities and
Social Sciences, Phranakhon Rajabhat University in Academic Year
2014, 7 graduate students in the qualitative research, and 7
employers. The research instruments are questionnaires and
focus group with questions. Data are analyzed by frequency,
percentage, means and standard deviation. Content analysis is
by field notes and recordings. Data is interpreted in narrative
essays.
The result are as follows:
1. The follow up of the graduate students in the major
is 15 female answering the questionnaire (88.23%) and male
(11.76%)
2. The employment status is that 14 persons (82.35%)
are employed, 3 unemployed persons (17.65%) The job is what
10 persons (71.43%) working in private sectors 1 person (7.14%)
works in state enterprise, 3 persons (21.42%) have their own
business.
3. The graduate mostly have the salary between 10,000 –
15,000 bath per month for 10 persons (71.43%) and more than
15,000 bath for 4 persons (28.57%) respectively.
4. Working problem aspect is (21.42%) The main problem
is that work/career is not related to the graduate major (7.14%)
therefor their work is not fit to their knowledge (64.30%) In
knowledge implementation and job satisfaction aspect most of
the graduate require more English skill (64.71%) and Computer
skill (29.41%)
The result of focus group is as follows:
The focus group consists of 7 instructors, graduate
students, and employers. It is found that most of the graduate
have working problem in not related to their knowledge gained
in the study and they require more English and Computer skill.
