Guidelines for Teacher Competency Development in the Child Development Center under Tha Ko Subdistrict Administrative Organization Chiang Rai

The purpose of this research aimed to study guidelines for teacher competency development in the child development center under Tha Ko subdistrict administrative organization, Chiang Rai. The population and the informant groups were included, 1 director of the division of education, 14 teachers, and 15 child caregivers, totaling 30 people. Data collection has consisted of a questionnaire assessing the present and desirable conditions for teacher competency development, and a group discussion record form for guidelines of teacher competency development in the child development center under Tha Ko subdistrict administrative organization, Chiang Rai. Data were analyzed by finding the mean and standard deviation, priority needs index: PNI, frequency values, and content analysis. The results were revealed as follows.
1. The study of the present and desirable conditions for teacher competency development in the child development center under Tha Ko subdistrict administrative organization, Chiang Rai.
1.1 In present conditions, the assessment of teacher competency development on average was at a high level.
1.2 In desirable conditions, the assessment of teacher competency development on average was at
a high level.
1.3 In terms of the priority needs index, Leadership, code of ethics of teaching profession, language, innovation and technology, and teamwork performance competencies were presented priority needs index at maximum and urgent.
2. Guidelines for developing teacher competency in the child development center under Tha Ko subdistrict administrative organization, Chiang Rai.
Guidelines for developing teacher competency in the child development center under Tha Ko subdistrict administrative organization, Chiang Rai consist of 4 stages; 1) Analyze the development needs, 2) Determine the development competency, 3) Organize activities following to the development plan, and 4) Supervision, follow-up, and evaluation. Additionally, 4 ways to develop competency; 1) Raising awareness and a good attitude, 2) Organizing activities or projects to promote the development continuously, 3) Creating a network of mutual knowledge sharing, and 4) promotion and motivation for working.
