Abstract

The purpose of this research and development model was to study the effect of participatory development of incident risk report model by healthcare staff. The specific objectives are (1) to study the incident risk report model developed by healthcare staff’s participation; (2) to compare the knowledge, participation, and incident risk reporting rate of healthcare staff, before and after the participatory development of incident risk report; (3) to evaluate the satisfaction on incident risk reporting system. Thirty-two registered nurses of Fort Sunpasitthiprasong Hospital were purposively selected as samples, based on the entry criteria selection. The instruments were questionnaire developed from hospital incident risk report model workshop, to assess the level of knowledge, participation, and satisfaction. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Paired t-test.

Results indicated that (1) the development of the incident risk report model through Line official account application provided easy access to incident risk reporting program, with good feedbacks and follow up; (2) the mean scores on knowledge and participation in incident risk reporting after the development workshop were statistically significantly higher, and increasing rate of the incident risk reporting,  with statistically significant; (3) the satisfaction level was highest on developed incident risk reporting system. Therefore, hospital administrators should encourage training on incident risk reporting, and encourage the healthcare staff to participate in risk management.
