Abstract

A study of village health volunteers’ mechanism of operational role development after the COVID-19 crisis, Trang Province, with the following objectives. 1. To study the factors related to the performance according to the roles and duties of village health volunteers in Trang Province. 2. To study the mechanisms of role development after the COVID-19 crisis among village health volunteers, Trang Province. The study was conducted by combining both quantitative and qualitative research methods. It was divided into two phases according to the objectives. The population was mostly village health volunteers. In the area of Trang Province that met the specified criteria, 490 people were assigned to a sample group of 91 people and 15 important informants according to the specified qualifications. Tools used in the research, namely questionnaires and interview forms, had an index of consistency of the question between 0.66 and 1.0, and Cronbach alpha coefficients for knowledge, attitude, and role performance were 0.732, 0.920, and 0.918, respectively. Statistics used in data analysis are frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The hypothesis test for correlation was presented using the Pearson correlation. An analysis of key informants' interviews by research objectives. By using content analysis techniques based on a systematic development framework, namely input, process, and output factors.

The study's findings revealed that the volunteers' knowledge of their roles and responsibilities was lacking. There was no relationship with the performance of the roles and responsibilities of the volunteers. (r = 0.113, p-value = 0.284). with statistical significance (r = 0.397, p-value = 0.001) and mechanisms for developing operational roles after the COVID-19 crisis of village health volunteers, Trang Province Divided into 3 levels consisting of: 1. mechanisms of upstream development 2. Mechanisms of midstream development, and 3. Downstream development mechanisms taking into account the external environment and development feedback to be used as a framework for operational efficiency to produce the desired results. It is a tool to drive quality development. Be flexible according to the situation. Emphasis on stakeholder participation
