Abstract

This cross-sectional survey research aimed to study factors related to personnel’s happiness and organizational commitment at Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health (QSNICH). The sample consisted of QSNICH 328 personnel. Data were collected by questionnaires and analyzed for descriptive statistics, including frequency distribution, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Inferential statistics included the Chi-square test, Spearman correlation coefficient, and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis.

The results of the study indicated that the QSNICH personnel had a moderate overall level of organizational commitment (3.63±0.457), a moderate level of Quality of Work Life (3.5±0.452), and a high overall level of happiness (3.67±0.454). Work-life quality was positively correlated with happiness (rs = 0.706, p-value<0.001), and happiness was positively correlated with organizational commitment (rs = 0.636, p-value<0.001). Quality of Work Life and happiness explained 45.8% of the variance in organizational commitment (R2 = 0.458, p-value<0.001). Therefore, the QSNICH management team should actively promote quality of work life and foster employee happiness, to sustainably enhance organizational commitment among personnel.
