Factors Associated with Perceived Service Quality among Clients of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine Services at Phaholpolpayuhasena Hospital, Kanchanaburi Province

This study was an analytical cross-sectional study. The objectives were to assess perceived service quality and to identify factors associated with service quality in Thai traditional and alternative medicine (TTAM) services among clients at Phaholpolpayuhasena Hospital. The sample consisted of 245 patients, selected by systematic random sampling. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire between March 9–31, 2026. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation, and multiple linear regression, at a significance level of p < 0.05.
The findings indicated that perceived service quality was at a very high level (Mean = 4.50, S.D. = 0.50). Factors significantly associated with perceived service quality included utilization of massage services (yes/no) (p = 0.032), perceived benefits (p < 0.001), and access to services (p < 0.001). The variables that significantly predicted perceived service quality were access to services (β = 0.635), perceived benefits (β = 0.161), and utilization of massage services (yes/no) (β = 0.097). Together, these variables explained 54.4% of the variance in perceived service quality (Adjusted R² = 0.544, p < 0.001).
Recommendations are: Hospital administrators should improve the perceived quality of TTAM services by enhancing service accessibility and promoting the benefits of Thai traditional medicine to increase client satisfaction and service utilization.
