Components and indicators of creative leadership among health leaders in primary health care units, Trang Province

This study employed a quantitative research design. The objective of the research was to examine the components and indicators of creative leadership among healthcare leaders in primary care units in Thailand. A total of 35 variables were analyzed, with a sample size calculated for 9 times the initial sample size. A total sample size of 315 people was selected using simple random sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire that had been validated by 7 experts, with a content validity index of 1.00 and a reliability coefficient of 0.86. Data was analyzed using exploratory factor analysis, with factors extracted using principal component analysis and orthogonal rotation using the Varimax method.
The study results of exploratory analysis showed that, the Kaiser – Mayer – Olkin - KMO - was .981 and Bartlett’s Test of Sphericity was 20118.993, both of which were statistically significant at the .001 level. There were a total of 4 components and 30 indicators. The Eigen values ranged from 1.044 to 27.717, with the percentage of variance ranged from 2.270 to 60.254, and the cumulative percentage of variance ranged from 60.254 to 71.165. The findings are as followed: 1) Vision and application skills (9 indicators), 2) Adaptability and open-mindedness (8 indicators), 3) Creative and imaginative skills (7 indicators), and 4) Emotional intelligence (6 indicators). The new knowledge gained from this research can be applied to the development of primary healthcare personnel based on these components and indicators.
