Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to develop a teaching MAT3C Model to strengthen mathematical process skills for Mattayomsuksa 4 students, and 2) to examine the effectiveness of teaching the MAT3C Model to strengthen mathematical process skills for Mattayomsuksa 4 students. The samples were 25 Mattayomsuksa 4 students of Municipality School Saideaw witty under the Office of Education, Sakeao Provincial Administration Organization Municipality in the academic year 2018. They were selected by Purposive Sampling. The research instruments consisted of 1) a teaching MAT3C Model to strengthen mathematical process skills for Mattayomsuksa 4 students, 2) a learning management plan, 3) a mathematics process skill test, and a satisfaction questionnaire for students' opinions towards teaching MAT3C Model to strengthen mathematical process skills for Mattayomsuksa 4 students. The data were analyzed by using mean, standard deviation, independent statistics, and content analysis.

The results were as follows: The teaching model to strengthen mathematical process skills for Mattayomsuksa 4 students was known as MAT3C Model which revealed the components of principles and objectives, and process and conditional implementation. The teaching and learning process consisted of 6 steps: 1) Motivation: M, 2) Active Learning: A, 3) Transfer of Learning: T, 4) Cooperative Learning: C, 5) Cooperative Learning: C, and 6) Conclude C. The developed teaching model to strengthen mathematical process skills for Mattayomsuksa 4 students revealed the efficiency at 90.54/92.67 which was higher than the required criteria of 80/80. After learning and teaching by using the teaching MAT3C Model to strengthen mathematical process skills for Mattayomsuksa 4 students, they had higher ability in mathematical process skills at the .01 level of statistical significance. The ability in mathematical process skills of the students studying through teaching MAT3C Model was better. The overall students' opinions towards the use of teaching MAT3C Model to strengthen mathematical process skills for Mattayomsuksa 4 students were at the high level.
