People’s Participation in Integrated Local Development in the Bangkok Community

Abstract

          The objectives of this research were to study factors affecting people’s participation in integrated local development in the Bangkok community and to study people’s development guidelines in integrated local development in the Bangkok community. This research was mixed methods approach of the sample: The first group was key informants consisted of 8 community leaders, scholars and representatives of agencies or enterprises by in-depth interview. The second group was people living in the Bangkok community in 2021 who were 18 years old and over by multi-stage sampling and simple random sampling. Data collection was conducted by questionnaire, statistics for analyzing data were frequency, percentage, means, standard deviation, testing the construct validity of the measurement model by using LISREL Program. The findings revealed that: The results of basic statistical analysis of variables found that participation in making decision to determine solutions the problems; the average was at the high level in the terms of participation in operation, participation in taking care of the public interest of the community, participation in receiving benefits, participation in observing the work and local development factors integrated in the community. The analysis results of casual factor relationship were not affected people’s participation in integrated local development in the Bangkok community. Factors of participation in evaluation were directly influenced by factors of participation in operation with a positive influence size. There was statistical significance at the 0.05 level. Summary of hypothesis testing results found that factors of participation in making decision and factors of participation in receiving benefits were not affected factors of participation in evaluation, people’s participation in integrated local development in the Bangkok community, factors of participation in evaluation, people’s participation in integrated local development in the Bangkok community. All of 3 factors were affected indirectly people’s participation in integrated local development in the Bangkok community.
