Abstract

The doctrines presented in the works of Ven. Buddhadasa Bhikkhu, a dedicated Buddhist disciple, are regarded as truth and have been widely accepted by many scholars. This acceptance stems from their effectiveness in addressing various societal issues, such as corruption and deceit, by advocating for Dhamma as a refuge for humanity. These teachings provide a foundation for individuals to live safely amidst numerous challenges and crises. This article aims to present three key aspects: 1) the doctrinal works of Ven. Buddhadasa Bhikkhu, with a focus on the three inspirations that were central to his lifelong dedication to Buddhism; 2) the current issues faced by humanity, which are attributed to a lack of Dhamma and the drift towards materialism; and 3) the application of Buddhist principles, specifically the Four Noble Truths and the Kalamasutta, in resolving issues like corruption and deceit, in accordance with the teachings of Ven. Buddhadasa Bhikkhu. This study involves the examination, analysis, and synthesis of various documents from the significant literary works of Ven. Buddhadasa Bhikkhu, encompassing his three wishes, Dhammakhosa, and the core tenets of Buddhism.
