บทคัดย่อ

Abstract

Farmers’ knowledge is an important factor contributing to an achievement of oil palm management goals, especially for those who participate in the project for restoring abandoned paddy fields to expand oil palm plantation area. The specific objectives of this research were 1) to study socio-economic characteristics of participating farmers, 2) to investigate knowledge changes on oil palm plantation management of the farmers before and after participating in the project, and 3) to examine socio-economic factors of the farmers in relation with knowledge of oil palm management after participating in the project. The samples consisted of 131 farmers of the project in Takbai district, Narathiwat province. These samples were selected using simple random sampling method. Structured questionnaire was used as a mean of data collection. Data were analyzed using appropriate descriptive statistics, paired t-test and Pearson’s correlation coefficient methods. Results showed that majority of the farmers were male, completed primary school with an average age of 57 years. After participating in the project, farmers’ knowledge improved significantly for overall and specific oil palm management aspects included in the research. Their knowledge levels improved respectively from low to high levels after participating in the project. Number of household members was significantly and positively related with the farmers’ knowledge after participating in the project.

บทคัดย่อ ความรู้ของเกษตรกรที่เข้าร่วมโครงการฟื้นฟู พื้นที่นาร้างเพื่อปลูกปาล์มน้ำมันนับว่าเป็นปัจจัย ที่สำคัญประการหนึ่งในการดำเนินโครงการฯ ให้บรรลุ ตามเป้าหมายที่วางไว้ การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เฉพาะเพื่อ 1) ศึกษาสภาพทางเศรษฐกิจและสังคม ของเกษตรกรที่เข้าร่วมโครงการฯ, 2) เพื่อศึกษา การเปลี่ยนแปลงความรู้ที่มีผลมาจากการส่งเสริม เผยแพร่ และฝึกอบรมเกี่ยวกับการจัดการสวนปาล์ม น้ำมันของเกษตรกรก่อนและหลังจากเข้าร่วมโครงการฯ และ 3) วิเคราะห์ปัจจัยทางเศรษฐกิจและสังคมที่มี ความสัมพันธ์กับระดับความรู้ของเกษตรกรหลัง เข้าร่วมโครงการฯ กลุ่มตัวอย่างคือ เกษตรกรที่เข้าร่วม โครงการฯ ในอำเภอตากใบ จังหวัดนราธิวาส จำนวน 131 คน โดยใช้วิธีการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบง่าย เครื่องมือ ที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือ แบบสอบถามเชิงโครงสร้าง การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนา การทดสอบ ค่าเฉลี่ยสำหรับกลุ่ม ตัวอย่าง 2 กลุ่มที่ไม่เป็น อิสระต่อกัน และการวิเคราะห์ค่าสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ของเพียร์สัน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า เกษตรกรส่วนใหญ่เป็นเพศชาย จบการศึกษาในระดับประถมศึกษา และมีอายุเฉลี่ย 57 ป ีเกษตรกรมีความรู้เกี่ยวกับการจัดการสวนปาล์มน้ำมันหลังเข้าร่วมโครงการฯ เพิ่มขึ้นในทุกประเด็น ที่ศึกษาอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติทั้งในประเด็นย่อย และในภาพรวม โดยที่ในภาพรวมเกษตรกรมีความรู้ เกี่ยวกับการจัดการสวนปาล์มน้ำมันระดับน้อย และ เพิ่มขึ้นในระดับมากหลังจากเข้าร่วมโครงการฯ จำนวน สมาชิกในครอบครัวที่ช่วยทำการเกษตรมีความสัมพันธ์ ในทางบวกกับความรู้ของเกษตรกรหลังเข้าร่วม โครงการฯ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ
