Abstract

Generally, the problems concerning the students overspending the studying period than the determined period is often implied that the student’ status is dissolved. In this article, it analyzes such problem to find out its solutions. It found that the announcement of the Ministry of Education regarding criteria of the bachelor and master degree, B.E. 2548, does not regulate on the term of study; it depends on each University’s regulation. In some cases, the regulations may be flexible for some students to extend the period of study as the case may be in compliance with acts establishing institute. However, no criteria are held as standard. It is suggested to amend the announcement of the Ministry of Education regarding criteria of the bachelor and master degree, B.E. 2548. In addition, as entitled by the virtue of Section 34(2), the private Universities may enact own rules, regulations and provisions in this regard under an exception for certain reasonable cases such as force majeure, etc.
