Abstract

การศึกษาเรื่องนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาพฤติกรรมการบริโภคและการเป็นหนี้ของชาวประมงทะเล 2) ศึกษาคุณภาพชีวิตของชาวประมงทะเล และ 3) วิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างพฤติกรรมการบริโภคและการเป็นหนี้กับคุณภาพชีวิตของชาวประมงทะเล กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษาได้มาจากการสุ่มตัวอย่างครัวเรือนชาวประมงทะเลที่อาศัยอยู่ใน 3 หมู่บ้าน ได้แก่ บ้านนาลึก บ้านท้องโหนด และบ้านคอเขา ตำบลสิชล อำเภอสิชล จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช จานวน 300 ครัวเรือน ด้วยวิธีการสุ่มแบบชั้นภูมิ (Stratified Sampling) ทำการรวบรวมข้อมูลทาด้วยการสัมภาษณ์ แบบมีโครงสร้างโดยใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือ ทำการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนา คือ การแจกแจงความถี่ ร้อยละ และสถิติอนุมาน โดยใช้สถิติ Chi-Square ผลจากการศึกษาเป็นดังต่อไปนี้

1. พฤติกรรมการบริโภคของชาวประมงทะเลที่สำคัญได้แก่ 1) ชาวประมงทะเลยึดเหตุผลในการเลือกซื้อสินค้าที่ถูกย่อมเยามากที่สุด 2) สิ่งที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการตัดสินใจเลือกซื้อสินค้ามากที่สุด คือ ความต้องการของตนเอง และ 3) ประเภทและค่าใช้จ่ายในการบริโภครายเดือนทีพบมากที่สุด คือ หมวดอาหารและเครื่องดื่มทั่วไป ซึ่งมีค่าใช้จ่ายอยู่ในช่วง 4,001 – 8,000 บาท คิดเป็นร้อยละ 41.33

2. กว่าครึ่งหนึ่งของชาวประมงทะเลไม่เคยกู้เงิน และไม่มีหนี้สินของครัวเรือนในช่วงที่ศึกษา

3. ผลการวิเคราะห์ระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของชาวประมงทะเล โดยแบ่งออกเป็น 3 ระดับ พบว่า ส่วนใหญ่ชาวประมงทะเลในตำบลสิชล มีคุณภาพชีวิตปานกลาง ร้อยละ 69.33 รองลงมามีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดี ร้อยละ 29.33 ส่วนที่มีคุณภาพชีวิตในระดับที่ไม่ดีมีเพียง ร้อยละ 1.33

4. ปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับคุณภาพชีวิตโดยรวมของชาวประมงทะเลมีดังต่อไปนี้ 1) ปัจจัยด้านประชากร ได้แก่ อายุ 2) ปัจจัยด้านเศรษฐกิจสังคม ได้แก่ การศึกษา การประกอบอาชีพอื่นนอกเหนือจากการประมง รายได้ และระยะเวลาในการประกอบอาชีพประมง 3) พฤติกรรมการบริโภค ได้แก่ ค่าใช้จ่ายในหมวดอาหารและเครื่องดื่มทั่วไป หมวดเกี่ยวกับที่อยู่อาศัย หมวดเครื่องนุ่งห่มและรองเท้า หมวดเวชภัณฑ์และค่ารักษาพยาบาล หมวดการเดินทางและการสื่อสาร หมวดการศึกษา หมวดการบันเทิงและนันทนาการ หมวดการจัดงานพิธีในโอกาสพิเศษ หมวดค่าใช้จ่ายที่ไม่เกี่ยวกับการอุปโภคบริโภค หมวดค่าใช้จ่ายเพื่อผลตอบแทนในอนาคต หมวดค่าใช้จ่ายในการประกอบอาชีพ และ 4) การเป็นหนี้ ได้แก่ ภาระหนี้สินในปัจจุบัน และความสามารถในการชาระหนี้

 

Consumption Behaviors, Debt and Quality of Life of Marine Fishers in Sichon Sub-district, Sichon District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

The objectives of this research were: 1) to investigate consumption behaviors, debt and quality of life of marine fishers; 2) to study the quality of life of marine fishers; and 3) to analyze the relationship among consumption behaviors, debt and quality of life of marine fishers. Samples were drawn from marine fishers’ households resided in 3 villages - namely Ban Naluek, Ban Tong Node and Ban Kho Khao - of Sichon sub-district, Sichon district, Nakhon Si Thammarat province. The sample size was 300. The stratified sampling technique was use in selecting the sample. Data were collected by means of structured interview using questionnaire. Descriptive statistics were applied in analyzing data distribution and Chi-Square statistics was used in analyzing the relationship between independent and dependent variables. The research findings were as follows.

1. Important consumption behaviors included: 1) the most important reason for selecting goods to be purchased was the fair price of the goods; 2) the most influential variable for decision-making to purchase goods was their individual needs; and 3) Type of goods purchased with their highest monthly expenditure was food and general drink category which costs mostly between 4,001 – 8,000 baht per month and was counted for 41.33 per cent.

2. Over a half of marine fishers had not experienced borrowing money and did not owe any debt at the time of this study.

3. Results of the analysis of the mean scores of 5 domains of marine fishers’ quality of life were as follows: 1) the physical domain was at the medium level; 2) the psychological domain was at the high level; 3) the social relation domain was at the high level; 4) the environmental domain was at the medium level; and 5) the overall quality of life and health domain was at the high level. The categorization of the quality of life based on the quality of life criteria showed that the majority of marine fishers were at medium level which was counted for 69.33 percent, followed by the high level which was counted for 29.33 percent, and the low level of quality of life which was counted for only 1.33 percent.

4. Factors related to the overall quality of life of marine fishers included: 1) demographic factors i.e. age, marital status, and number of household members; 2) socio-economic factors i.e. education, occupation outside fishing, income, and number of years engaging in fishing; 3) consumption behaviors i.e. expenditure on food and general drink, expenditure on housing, expenditure on cloth and shoes, expenditure on medical products and health, expenditure on traveling and communication, expenditure on education, expenditure on entertainment and recreation, expenditure on ceremonial arrangement in special occasion, expenditure not related to consumption, and expenditure on investment for the future; and 4) debt i.e. currently unpaid debt, and ability to pay debt.
