Treatment of hemorrhoids using alternative medical practice in Phitsanulok Province. A case study of folk healer Mrs.LuanPhosrithet.

Abstract
The objective of this research was to study the wisdom of hemorrhoids treatment of Mrs.LuanPhosrithet, follow up on the results of hemorrhoids patients and to study the drug formulas used in the treatment of hemorrhoids, using an in-depth interview data collection method. Three patients were monitored by telephone monitoring and three neighbor in-depth interviews. The research instruments were semi-structured interview, camera, audio recorder, descriptive data analysis
- The results of the study of the wisdom of hemorrhoids treatment revealed that Mrs.LuanPhosrithethas a wide range of knowledge about herbal medicine, has been treating for more than 42 years, receiving knowledge from parents and monks at the temple. Near the house with a 5-step method of obtaining a disease that is skilled in treating hemorrhoids. Treatment methods were examined by inquiring about symptoms and examining the lesions around the anus divided into 4 phases. The treatment was by prescribing herbal remedies, pill forms, hand print tablets and topical ointments. Herbs collected from the local area are dried. Compensation depending on the drug or the cost of the drug. The practice is strictly prohibited in the 5th precepts.
- The results of treatment follow-up of 3 hemorrhoids patients showed that the symptoms of hemorrhoid treatment were treated with oral and topical drugs. After the patient performed the treatment, the condition improved. No pain, burning, itching around the anus. And without pain
3. The results of a study of drug formulas used in the treatment of hemorrhoids. It was found that the overall flavor of the drug was hot-flavored drug formulation. The Laxative Drugeffects, include: Aloe vera(L.) Burm.f.,Cissusquadrangularis L.,TamarindusindicaL., The wound healing activity effect, including Curcuma Longa Linn,ZingiberCassumunarRoxb.,SaccharumofficinarumL..The reducing inflammation, including Curcuma xanthorrhiza, StemonatuberosaLour. Drug formulas used in accordance with Thai Traditional Medicine theory.
