Development of English Language Learning Activities by Using Simulation Situations with Role Plays for Pratomsuksa 4 Students

Abstract

This research objective were 1) to develop English language learning activities by using simulation situations with role plays for Pratomsuksa 4 students to have its efficiency according to the criteria of 75/75, 2) to compare   the English language learning achievement by using simulation activities with role plays before and after the learnings, and 3) to study the students’ satisfaction after learning with the English language learning activities using simulation situations with role plays for Pratomsuksa 4 students. The sample group was Pratomsuksa 4/1 of 20 students in Phayakkhaphum Phisai Subdistrict Municipality School under the Phayakkhaphum Phisai Subdistrict Municipality in academic year 2022 who were obtained by cluster random sampling. The tools used for collecting data were 8 learning plans of simulation situations combined with role play, 2 hours per plan, for a total of 16 hours, Statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test (Dependent Sample).

            The research results were as follows: 1. The English language learning activities by using simulation situations with role plays for Pratomsuksa 4 students had its efficiency of 75.51/76.50. 2. The students, who studied English language with simulation situations with role plays learning activities for Pratomsuksa 4 students, had their academic achievement scores after the learning higher than before the learning at a statistical significance at the .05.     3. The students were satisfied with the learning activities at the highest level (= 4.79, S.D. = 0.32)
