ความสามารถด้านการอ่านของนักศึกษาสาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏราชนครินทร์ Reading Ability of the English Program’s Students of Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University

บทคัดย่อ

การวิจัยในครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ ประการแรก เพื่อศึกษาความสามารถในการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษรายทักษะ ประการที่สอง เพื่อ
เปรียบเทียบความสามารถโดยรวมในการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาที่มี อายุ ระดับชั้นปี ภูมิหลังทางการศึกษา และเจตคติต่างกัน
และประการที่สาม เพื่อสำรวจปัญหาหรืออุปสรรคในการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาสาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ (ศิลปศาสตร์) มหาวิทยาลัย
ราชภัฏราชนครินทร์กลุ่มตัวอย่างในการวิจัย เป็นนักศึกษาสาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ (ศิลปศาสตร์) มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏ ราชนครินทร์
ชั้นปีที่ 1- 4 ที่กำลังศึกษาอยู่ในภาคเรียนที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2555จำนวน 64 คน ซึ่งได้มาโดยการเลือกแบบเจาะจง เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการ
วิจัย คือ แบบสอบถามและแบบทดสอบ สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลได้แก่ การหาค่าความถี่ (Frequency) ค่าร้อยละ (Percentage)
ค่าเฉลี่ย (Mean)ค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (Standard deviation) ทดสอบด้วย t-test (Independent samples) และการวิเคราะห์ความ
แปรปรวนทางเดียว (One - way ANOVA) ดำเนินการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้โปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์สำเร็จรูป
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า
1.ความสามารถในการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษรายทักษะ ได้แก่ทักษะการจับความระดับประโยค ทักษะการจับใจความสำคัญ
ทักษะการตีความ ทักษะการเดาความหมายจากบริบทและทักษะการอนุมานความอยู่ในระดับตํ่า แต่กลุ่มตัวอย่างส่วนใหญ่กลับมีความ
สามารถด้านการอ่านเฉพาะทักษะการจับรายละเอียดอยู่ในระดับสูง
2. กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่มีเจตคติต่อการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษต่างกันมีความสามารถโดยรวมในการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษ แตกต่างกัน
อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05
3. ปัญหาหรืออุปสรรคในการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษคือ วิธีการสอนแบบแปลและไวยากรณ์ ทำให้ผู้เรียนไม่รู้ความหมายของคำศัพท์ อ่านออกเสียงไม่ถูก

The purposes of the research were to study the reading ability of the English Language Program’s
students (Liberal Arts) of Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University, to compare the differences of the students’
overall abilities, accounting for age, year, educational background, and attitude, and to examine the problems
in their reading of English texts. The sample group was made up of 64 students studying in the first semester of the 2012 academic year.They were selected by a volunteer nonrandom method. The research instruments
used were a questionnaire and a test. The research evaluated statistics in frequency, percentage, mean,
standard deviation, t-test, and one way ANOVA. A computer program was used to analyze the data.The
findings revealed the following:
1. Students tested low in the following reading skills:sentence study, locating the main idea, interpreting
content, and keying into context clues.However, students tested high in locating details.
2. The samples that exhibited differing attitudes toward reading showed a difference in overall reading
ability by .05.
3. Students had problems using the Grammar Translation Instruction Method; they were unable to
accurately pronounce words and interpret their meaning.
