The Development of Trade and Production along the East-West Economic Corridor

Abstract

The purpose of the study was twofold: (1) to study on the factors benefit on the GMS physical connectivity, and (2) to study on the economic activities arising from GMS physical connectivity and thereby leading to the national interest. The study was focused on the information collected from the relevant documents and research works as well as interviews with the executives and questionnaires made by the practical staff of government and private agencies.

Economic Corridor was focused on the importance of the physical connectivity, particularly for East West Economic Corridor or Route No. 9 This route is beneficial and essential to Thailand in terms of transport, logistic and investment. But it can work in some parts, with the involvement of factors and problems concerned.
