Methods For Forming Waste Materials From Shadow Play Handicraft for Jewelry Design under The Concept of Upcycling

Abstract

The waste material from shadow plays handicraft is a unique material that is interesting in terms of material properties and is a local waste. Represent wisdom The value of cultural and artistic preservation. Therefore, the researcher wanted to study and experiment with waste materials from shadow plays handicrafts. The objectives are 1) to study physical characteristics and the specific properties of waste materials used for shadow plays handicrafts 2) to find a method for forming waste materials from shadow plays handicrafts for jewelry design under the concept of Upcycling. By observing and experimenting with the experimental recording tool, the method of forming the waste material from shadow plays handicraft Bring the data to analyze to find a way to develop jewelry design.

            The results showed that waste material from shadow plays handicrafts has been characterized as a natural material, has hardened, toughness, color stability. And translucent, able to bend or fold easily. And has a variety of forming, which can be divided into 3 types of forming characteristics 1) sheet forming. That is suitable for developing into jewelry that is large and needs to show the surface of the leather. 2) Line forming. That is Suitable for developing into jewelry with the desired length. And 3) forming a three-dimensional unit. Which has a variety of developments into jewelry and assembled into a line or can be joined together to form a sheet.
