Abstract

This research aims to develop a creative tourism model in Phetchaburi Province by using mixed research methods (Mixed Methods) to design research with a combination of parallel methods (Parallel-Databases Design). Collects data with key informants by using a method of selectively selecting from 3 groups of contributors: Group 1, 13 travel-related policymakers, collecting data by means of focus group. Group 2, a group of 30 community tourism practitioners, collecting data by means of focus group, and group 3, a group of 300 community tourism-related entrepreneurs, collecting data by responding to the tourism management questionnaire. The results showed that

  1. Development of guidelines for creating a creative tourism model in Phetchaburi Province should be both proactive and passively in tandem with all 4 dimensions, proactively, including accelerating short-term development and increase the potential. The passive part is to build long-term immunity and solving the crisis to achieve the sustainability of development.
  2. Creative tourism management process in Phetchaburi Province consists of 3 steps: 1) Establishing a tourism group 2) Managing knowledge dissemination / public relations and 3) Opening a creative tourism community.
  3. Techniques for creative tourism management consists of 3 techniques: 1) A-I-C technique 2) CoP community learning practice technique and 3) Effective management technique P-D-C-A.

The aforementioned approach will result in the outcomes of the creative tourism model having 4 components: 1) creative communities 2) creative tourism destinations 3) creative entrepreneurs and 4) creative tourists.
