This research examines the interior design improvements of the Department of Land Transport office, building 4, Chatuchak District, focusing on evaluating space usage efficiency and managing space usage behaviors. It also proposes design solutions that meet the needs of both service providers and users, using both qualitative and quantitative research methods., the study follows four steps: 1) Review and collect theoretical data, concepts, and relevant information related to interior design, 2) Analyze the architectural physical data of the interior space, 3) Analyze basic data on the behavior of service providers and users within the building space, and 4) Present the research findings related to interior architectural design. The study examined the architectural physical aspects and identified. The mismatch between the needs of service providers and users and the behavior of space usage affects the current space utilization in the building. The study's findings can therefore serve as a guideline for improving the interior design of the case study building within the defined project scope., covering six spaces, including: (1) Public Relations Area, (2) Physical Fitness Test Area, (3) Training Area, (4) Theoretical Exam Area, (5) Driver's License Issuance Area, and (6) Office Area, in order to improve the efficiency of space utilization and space management to better align with user behavior in the case study building.
The quantitative results from the interior design improvements show that the central areas for physical fitness testing and training have increased available space by approximately 39%. This reflects improved space efficiency. The design should consider the relationship between user needs and space management to accommodate current activities effectively.
