The research makes use of a qualitative research method in producing the ranad ek's melody, illustrating the researcher's life-long musical experience, combining different musical styles of ranad ek masters such as Boonyong Ketkong, Boonyang Ketkong, Pinij Chaisuwan, Venus Kaewkanok, Thirapon Noinit and Charin Jam-Aroon. The result of this research is a set of self-learning DVDs that contain two song suites: the Homrong Chao and the Tab Ton Phleng Ching Sam Chan. The contents of these DVDs are divided into three parts: Part I describes historical background, Part II shows the ranad ek performed together with the khong wong yai (providing the basic melody) from the beginning until the end continuously, and Part III demonstrates the same melodies as in Part II but this time each melody will be split into short sections.
