Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the factors affecting price determination of Thabthimjan Rose Apple of Thailand in the market of China. The method of this research was to analyze the market status, weather, and the Chinese festival, during period of 1st September 2011 to 30th April 2013, total 608 days, including 528 days with Thabthimjan Rose Apple in the market and 80 days without Thabthimjan Rose Apple in the market, in order to research the factors affecting price determination of Thabthimjan Rose Apple. The method of data collection was to collect data from the Fruit Trade Association of Guangzhou and the Meteorological Station of China.  The method of analysis was to analyze the collected data with quantitative and analyzed data with the multiple regression and correlation analysis method, in order to estimate the relationship of one variable as dependent from other variables as independent.The results divided out 2 periods were shipping period of lasted for 2 days and 3 days as follows:  1. In the shipping period that lasted for 2 days, the factors affecting price determination of Thabthimjan Rose Apple with statistically significant were as follows: the wholesale amount of rose apple by air (Q_airt) the wholesale price of rose apple by air of last day (Price_airt-1) and the period of the memorial day and the worship needed festival (Festivalt). The result showed that there were 2 independent variables, as the wholesale price of rose apple by air of last day (Price_airt-1) and the period of the Memorial Day and the worship needed festival (Festivalt), were the variables correlated in the same direction with 99 percent confidence level. An 1 percent increase of the wholesale price of rose apple by air of last day (Price_airt-1) leaded to an 0.616206 percent increase of the wholesale price of rose apple (Price_airt). And if the wholesale day is in the period of the Memorial Day and the worship needed festival (Festivalt), it leaded to an 11.0195 Yuan increase of the wholesale price of rose apple (Price_airt). And there was 1 independent variable, as the wholesale amount of rose apple by air (Q_airt), was the variable correlated in the opposite direction with 99 percent confidence level. An 1 percent increase of the wholesale amount of rose apple by air (Q_airt) leaded to an 0.0165567 percent increase of the wholesale price of rose apple (Price_airt).  2. In the shipping period that lasted for 3 days, the factors affecting price determination of Thabthimjan Rose Apple with statistically significant were as follows: the wholesale amount of rose apple by air (Q_airt) the wholesale price of rose apple by air of last day (Price_airt-1), the period of the memorial day and the worship needed festival (Festivalt) and the wholesale amount of rose apple by land(Q_landt). The result showed that there were 2 independent variables, as the wholesale price of rose apple by air of last day (Price_airt-1) and the period of the Memorial Day and the worship needed festival (Festivalt), were the variables correlated in the same direction with 99 percent and 95 percent confidence level respectively. An 1 percent increase of the wholesale price of rose apple by air of last day (Price_airt-1) leaded to an 0.736323 percent increase of the wholesale price of rose apple (Price_airt). And if the wholesale day is in the period of the Memorial Day and the worship needed festival (Festivalt), it leaded to a 6.14157 Yuan increase of the wholesale price of rose apple (Price_airt). And there was 2 independent variable, as the wholesale amount of rose apple by air (Q_airt) and wholesale amount of rose apple by land(Q_landt), was the variable correlated in the opposite direction with 99 percent confidence level. An 1 percent increase of the wholesale amount of rose apple by air (Q_airt) leaded to an 0.0356771 percent increase of the wholesale price of rose apple (Price_airt), and an 1 percent increase of the wholesale amount of rose apple by land (Q_landt) leaded to an 0.00468677 percent increase of the wholesale price of rose apple (Price_airt).
