Development of Life Quality for Disabled People of Local Administrative Organization, Uttaradit Province

Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the condition and guidelines to develop life quality for disabled people of Local Administrative Organization, Uttaradit province. The population was the registered disabled people of Local Administrative Organization, Uttaradit province. Stratified random sampling was employed to get 240 people. Research tools included a questionnaire and an interview form. Data were analyzed by frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation and content analysis. Research results showed that the life quality for disabled people of Local Administrative Organization, Uttaradit province overall was at a moderate level. Three quality of life raking from high to low was participation of the disabled in social activities, attitude towards disabled people and disabilities, and physical and mental condition, respectively. Guidelines to develop life quality for disabled people of Local Administrative Organization, Uttaradit province: physical and mental condition- group activities should be held for knowledge sharing; job and income- budget should be allocated for job training; appropriate accommodation and environment- Local Administrative Organization should improve the accommodation and environment of the disabled; education- learning and teaching should be provided in the community for convenience;  attitude towards disabled people and disabilities- continuous activities should be held for self esteem;   participation in social activities- the disabled should participated in problem solving or the disabled development.
