Guidelines for Garbage Management : A Case Study of Bang Bon District Office, Bangkok Metropolis

Abstract

ABSTRACT


Garbage management problem is a major problem in Bangkok Metropolis. Bang Bon District which is an area in Bangkok Metropolis has the same problem. As a semi-rural and urban area with an economic, social, and cultural growing characteristics, Bang Bon District increases its population and garbage. Therefore, Bang Bon District Office develops guidelines for  garbage management to control garbage  increase by encouraged all sectors of its population to participate in sorting out each type of garbage at its own source utilized according to its  property in  the form of recycling, compost, animal feed, and bio-fermented water, etc. The efficient method that Bang Bon District Office uses to manage the garbage problem is to reduce and control the amount of garbage at its own source according to academic principle in terms of 1A and 3Rs - Avoid, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
