Abstract

This research, entitled “A Tourism Development According to Huay Samong Dam Community Lifestyle, Kaeng Din So Sub-District, Nadi District, Prachinburi Province,” was aimed to analyze the information concerning community potentials in terms of economy, society, and culture in order to secure a tourism development according to Huay Samong Dam community lifestyle as well as create a draft plan for tourism development according to Huay Samong Dam community lifestyle. Collected data from 359 samples and 54 key informants, this research was mixed-methodology research. The tools employed in this research were questionnaire, semi-structured interview and issues in brainstorming. Quantitative data analysis consisted of frequency and percentage; qualitative data was used data analysis by interpreting and forming conclusions from phenomena. The results revealed that the local people wanted to develop their community and local products to serve for tourism. Also, the local people conceived that the community had ready potentials to be developed as a local lifestyle tourism attraction.   By this, a development plan of local lifestyle tourism was purposed. It comprised four issues consisted of strategy I: to develop knowledge and understanding as well as create people’s participation for tourism according to Huay Samong Dam community lifestyle, strategy II: to develop tourism attractions according to the philosophy’s sufficiency economy, strategy III: to strengthen a community’s economic growth, and strategy IV:  to develop a basic public utility system to serve efficiently for tourism attraction development.
