Health Cannabis Tourism to Enhance a Tourism Attractions in the Northeast of Thailand

Abstract

This research the objective was to study the health cannabis tourism model and develop a health cannabis tourism route to enhance tourism in the Northeast of Thailand. The total population includes 168 community enterprises that grow medical marijuana in the northeast of Thailand. The samples used for data collection were 84 groups obtained by purposive selection. By choosing the groups that grow medical marijuana that have registered for permission to grow legal marijuana with the Food and Drug Administration Ministry of Public Health and can be developed into a health cannabis tourism route. Using qualitative research methods and quantitative research method. The research tools were a questionnaire, a structured interview and an evaluation form for the potential of medical cannabis tourism. Statistics used in quantitative data analysis were mean and standard deviation. The qualitative data were analyzed by content analysis. The results showed that 1) medical marijuana production areas in the northeast of Thailand can be developed into a health cannabis tourism route to enhance tourism attractions in the Northeast of Thailand in 2 ways: 1. health cannabis learning center model 2. Health promotion model which is a new and exciting form of tourism for tourists who are interested in health cannabis. The results of the assessment of the tourism potential of the health cannabis tourism route to enhance tourism in the Northeastern the most were the service potential of the health cannabis tourism industry (gif.latex?\bar{x}=3.47) followed by the potential attraction of health cannabis tourism (gif.latex?\bar{x}=3.42) and the potential for supporting health cannabis tourism (gif.latex?\bar{x}=3.31)
