Main Article Content
Abstract
The research titled “Development of Value-added Bath Bombs from Agricultural Products in Samoeng District, Chiang Mai Province” sought to: 1) study techniques for producing bath bombs using agricultural raw materials; 2) promote the utilization and enhancement of agricultural products to add value; 3) generate new knowledge and publicize research findings; and 4) study consumer acceptance and satisfaction levels toward the prototype bath bomb product, as well as to analyze the product's market potential as a guideline for future commercial development. A mixed-methods research design was employed, gathering data from 15 key informants through semi-structured interviews. Data were analyzed using content analysis and descriptive statistics. The results revealed that the bath bomb formula incorporating macadamia oil, coffee grounds, and locally sourced dried flowers yielded high-quality products with a pleasant fragrance, soft texture, and skin-nourishing properties. The overall satisfaction level was high (mean = 4.12, SD = 0.76), with women showing significantly higher satisfaction than men (p < 0.05), reflecting gender-based differences in consumer behavior. This finding aligns with cosmetic market trends, where consumers increasingly value natural ingredients. Additionally, product packaging that is aesthetically pleasing, reflective of community identity, and supported by creative marketing materials contributed to enhanced market value. In-depth interviews with community leaders and entrepreneurs indicated strong potential for adding value to Samoeng’s agricultural outputs through product processing. Key strategies include building a unique brand identity, leveraging innovation to enhance value, and expanding market channels based on the value chain concept, aimed at fostering long-term competitive sustainability.
