Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process
The THAITESOL Journal follows these steps in its peer review process:
-
Submission
Authors submit an anonymized manuscript and cover letter via the ThaiJO system with no submission fees. -
Initial Screening (7-14 days)
- The Managerial Team checks adherence to Author Guidelines (sections, word limit). Non-compliant manuscripts are returned for revision.
- Manuscripts undergo Turnitin screening (≤15% similarity required; manually checked). High similarity scores result in rejection.
- An Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor assesses scope, quality, and relevance before deciding to proceed or reject.
-
Peer Review (3-6 weeks)
- If approved, two independent reviewers conduct a double-blind review and recommend:
- Accept (no/minor/major revision) or Reject.
- The handling editor consolidates feedback and informs the author via ThaiJO.
- The review process may take longer if reviewers are difficult to secure.
- If approved, two independent reviewers conduct a double-blind review and recommend:
-

- If necessary, the editorial board may send the revision for re-evaluation.
- Failure to address required changes may result in rejection.
-
Final Decision (~7 days)
- The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision.
- If the manuscript is accepted, it will be published either in June or December issues with no publication fees.
