Main Article Content
Abstract
This article aims to study life, concepts, work, and the Dhamma heritage of Phrathepyanamongkol who was a founder and former abbot of Wat Luang Pho Sot Thammakayaram. It is conducted by studying documents, research work, participatory observation, and verification interviews with information from monastic people. The results of the study show that Luang Pa has an important role to work in order to propagate Buddhism through speaking, writing, and broadcasting on television and radio. These roles are responsibilities that aim to develop religious people and organization. This causes to drive them through educational institutions until it became a Buddhist college, training, and networking for the propagation of Buddhism as evidenced by the theses, records, and religious buildings that appear today. The body of knowledge gained from this study shows that Luang Pa’s development consists of (1) religious places and monasteries; (2) religious people and the human development to work; (3) religious work and teachings with the goal of inheriting and preserving Buddhism.
