Personnel Management and Performance Motivation of Educational Personnel of Schools under the Council of Churches of Thailand
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the current state of personnel management and its impact on the performance motivation of educational personnel. Moreover, it aimed to explore the relationship between personnel management and the performance motivation of educational personnel in schools affiliated with the Council of Churches of Thailand. The population consisted of 58 school administrators and 628 teachers from 15 schools in Northern Thailand. The sample was selected using simple random sampling through a lottery method, involving five schools. The research units included school administrators and teachers, with a total sample size of 248 participants determined using Krejcie and Morgan’s table at a 95% confidence level. The sample comprised 20 administrators and 228 teachers, stratified across the five selected schools to ensure proportional representation. The research instrument employed was a questionnaire, with an Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) ranging from 0.67 to 1.00 and a reliability coefficient of 0.95. The statistical analyses employed included calculating the mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient to identify relationships.
Research findings revealed the following:
- The current state of personnel management in schools under the Council of Churches of Thailand, across 11 dimensions, was found to be at a high level overall.
- The performance motivation of educational personnel, considering five motivational factors, was also at a high level. Similarly, performance motivation concerning 11 supporting factors was at a high level.
- The current state of personnel management across 11 dimensions (X) exhibited a significant positive correlation with performance motivation (Y), encompassing both motivational factors (Y1) across five dimensions and supporting factors (Y2) across 11 dimensions, at a 0.01 significance level.
