MELODY ANALYSIS OF KHABBODNAPRAY NANGKRATHAEKYUAK OF BANGPID SIDSOISAENG’S OFFSPRINGS GROUP IN TRAT PROVINCE

Abstract

The research titled “Melody Analysis of Khabbodnapray Nangkrathaekyuak of Bangpid Sidsoisaeng’s Offsprings Group in Trat Province” was a qualitative study. The purpose of this research was to study the melodies of Khabbodnapray Nangkratheakyuak of Bangpid Sidsoisaeng’s Offsprings Group in Trat Province. The findings reveal that the melodies of Khabbodnapray Nangkrathaekyuak of Bangpid Sidsoisaeng’ s Offsprings Group in Trat Province consist of five tones, namely flat tone, down tone, falling tone, high tone, and rising tone. These five tones are important factors for singing the melodies of Khabbodnapray Nangkrathaekyuak. In pronouncing words or composing the lyrics, the five tones and scale are highly taken into consideration. The study also shows that the melodies of Khabbodnapray Nangkrathaekyuak of Bangpid Sidsoisaeng’ s Offsprings Group in Trat Province are on D major scale (DEF X AB X).  While singing is stuck to the principle of tones and scale, the lyrics with flat tone and down tone are in tune, but the lyrics with falling tone, high tone and rising tone are out of tune.
