Academic Administration Model to Enhance Professional Competencies of Students in Secondary Schools Under the Office of the Basic Education Commission

Abstract

The research aimed at developing an academic administration model to enhance the professional competence of students in secondary schools under the office of the basic education commission. The research procedures followed 3 steps, 1) studying the components and guidelines for academic administration to enhance professional competence of students in secondary schools through related research and documents with 5 schools with best practices. Data analysis was made through content analysis. 2) Constructing and validating the model of an academic administration to enhance the professional competence of students in secondary schools on the data obtained from step 1, validating the model by FGO with 9 experts, 3) Valuating the model of an academic administration to enhance the professional competence of students in secondary schools. The sample consisted of 58 school directors. Data analyzed using were means and standard deviation. The research found, the model of an academic administration to enhance the professional competence of students consisted of 4 components: 1) principles and objectives 2) the committee of academic administration, 3) the administrative process of services and 4) Productivity and success factors. The constructed model has been validated and evaluated by school administration as a possibility at high and at the highest usefulness.
