Development of a Training Package for Enhancing the Competencies of Serum Freezer Technicians

Abstract

The purposes of this study were 1) to investigate the occupational competency of the frozen serum cabinet, 2) to develop a training package for enhancing technicians’ professional competence, and 3) to study the results in the use of the developed training package. The samples were 22 high vocational certificate students from the Department of Industrial Electronics, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Ratchaburi Technical College by using a purposive method of selection and normalized distribution testing. The research instruments were a test, a questionnaire, and a performance form. Data were analyzed by using mean, standard deviation, and a t-test statistic. The developed package consisted of 5 main functions, 28 performance units, and 123 sub-competencies. The results of the suitability reviewed by experts showed that the factors of input-output process and feedback, contents, instructional media, and the test/worksheet were suitable at a high level. The results of the study indicated the efficiency of the training package by using the KW#3 method was acceptable according to the specified criteria (100/64.95). The results of using the training package showed that the average posttest score was significantly higher than the average pretest at the level of .05.
