The Relationship Between Project Manager Skills and Job Satisfaction: An Engineering Worker’s Perspective

Abstract

The purposes of this research were: (1) to study the level of engineering worker's perspective on project manager skills; (2) to study the level of job satisfaction; (3) to compare the different backgrounds of the level of engineering worker's perspective on project manager skills; (4) to compare the different backgrounds of the level of job satisfaction; and (5) to study the relationship between the level of engineering worker's perspective on project manager skills and job satisfaction. The population consisted of engineering workers' safety, occupation, health, and environment engineering companies. The sample consisted of 89 informants. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The reliability was 0.943. The statistics used to analyze the data were mean, standard deviation, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson product moment correlation. The results of the research were as follows: (1) The level of project manager skills was high overall. (2) The level of job satisfaction was high overall. (3) The comparison of the level of project manager skills classified by personal factors was not statistically significant. (4) The comparison of job satisfaction classified by personal factors was not statistically significant. (5) The relationship between the level of project manager skills and job satisfaction of engineering workers' was moderately positive (r =.498) at a statistically significant level of 0.01.
