Roles of Educational Institution Administrators in Promoting Learner-Centered English Language Instruction According to the Opinions of Teachers under Yala Primary Educational Service Area Office 1

Abstract

This research aimed to study the role of school administrators in promoting English teaching that focuses on learners, and compare the roles of school administrators in promoting English teaching that focuses on learners according to teachers’ opinions. This research was quantitative and consisted of 86 samples. The research results showed that 1) The research results according to objective 1, the role of school administrators in promoting English teaching that focuses on learners, according to teachers’ opinions, were at a high level overall and in each aspect. 2) The research results, according to objective 2, the comparative results of the roles of school administrators in promoting English teaching that focuses on learners according to teachers’ opinions, classified by gender, age, educational level, and work experience, found that teachers of different genders and work experience had no different opinions overall and in each aspect. Classified by educational level, it was found that teachers of different educational levels had different opinions on the role of school administrators in promoting English teaching that focuses on learners. When considering each aspect, it was found that in terms of curriculum creation and development, the research findings showed that school administrators should promote teaching and education based on the principle that all learners can learn and develop themselves, and that learners are the most important. The educational process must encourage learners to develop naturally and reach their full potential.
