ทหารกับการพัฒนาทางการเมืองในบริบทสังคมไทย

บทคัดย่อ
บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาทหารกับการพัฒนาทางการเมืองในบริบทสังคมไทย จากบทบาทของกองทัพที่กลับมามีอำนาจจากการรัฐประหาร ในปี พ.ศ. 2557 ซึ่งทหารกลายเป็นผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางการเมืองมาอย่างต่อเนื่องจนถึงปัจจุบัน ผ่านการศึกษาเอกสาร บทความ และงานวิจัย ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ความขัดแย้งในเชิงโครงสร้างรัฐและอำนาจทำให้สถาบันทางการเมืองและสมาชิกผู้แทนราษฎรที่มาจากในระบอบการปกครองแบบประชาธิปไตยล้มเหลว ซึ่งมีสาเหตุมาจากความแตกแยกภายในพรรคการเมือง ขาดความเป็นอันหนึ่งอันเดียวกัน และประชาชนขาดศรัทธาต่อคณะรัฐบาลพลเรือน ส่งผลให้เกิดช่องว่างที่ทำให้กองทัพเข้ามามีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องทางการเมือง ด้วยวิกฤติการณ์ทางการเมืองและปัญหาทางสังคมที่เกิดขึ้นดังกล่าว จึงเป็นข้ออ้างและเหตุผลอันชอบธรรมที่ทำให้ทหารต้องเข้ามาช่วยแก้ไขวิกฤตการณ์ทางการเมืองในสังคมไทย อันนำไปสู่การครองอำนาจการปกครองที่ยาวนานจากบุคคลที่มาจากกองทัพ
