บทคัดย่อ
การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันในการจัดการกิจกรรมการท่องเที่ยวทางทะเลจังหวัดภูเก็ต ตามเกณฑ์มาตรฐานกิจกรรมด้านการท่องเที่ยวของกรมการท่องเที่ยว กระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา และศึกษากิจกรรมการท่องเที่ยวทางทะเลจังหวัดภูเก็ตที่โดดเด่นในปัจจุบัน การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ ผู้วิจัยใช้วิธีการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกจากผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญ ได้แก่ ตัวแทนจากภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชนและประชาชนในพื้นที่ ถึงสภาพปัจจุบันในการจัดการกิจกรรมการท่องเที่ยวทางทะเลจังหวัดภูเก็ต ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ในปัจจุบันการจัดการกิจกรรมการท่องเที่ยวทางทะเลจังหวัดภูเก็ต ไม่ว่าจะเป็นด้านการจัดการสำหรับผู้ประกอบการ หรือด้านการจัดการของพื้นที่ ในภาพรวม เป็นไปตามเกณฑ์มาตรฐานกิจกรรมด้านการท่องเที่ยว ที่กรมการท่องเที่ยว กระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา ได้กำหนดไว้ ซึ่งมีประเด็นย่อยจำแนกออกเป็น 18 ประเด็น แต่อย่างไรก็ตามในรายละเอียดบางประเด็นย่อยมีผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญบางส่วนมีความเห็นต่างออกไป ซึ่งแม้จะเป็นส่วนน้อยก็สมควรให้ความสนใจไว้ด้วย เช่น พาหนะ
ที่ใช้ในการเดินทางสำหรับการขนส่งสาธารณะยังน้อยอยู่ การกำหนดขีดความสามารถในการรองรับยังไม่มีข้อกำหนดที่ชัดเจน เป็นต้น สำหรับกิจกรรมการท่องเที่ยวทางทะเลจังหวัดภูเก็ตที่โดดเด่นในปัจจุบัน 5 กิจกรรม ได้แก่ การล่องเรือชมเกาะต่าง ๆ และการดำน้ำดูปะการังทั้งการดำน้ำลึกและการดำน้ำตื้น การนอนพักผ่อนและเล่นน้ำริมชายหาด การเล่นกีฬาทางน้ำ และการล่องเรือชมพระอาทิตย์ตก
