An Analysis of National Artist’s Work : Chonlatee Tharnthong

Abstract

The main aim of research is to study an analysis of national artist : Chonlatee Thanthong. The purpose of this research is to study about Chonlatee Thanthong’s biography,music work, analysis of tune and lyrics. Data collection from ducuments and interviews. The results revealed that :

1. First name of Chonlatee Thangthong is Mr.Somnuek Thongma. Born on December 31 1937 at Baantom Thambon Srasiliam Phanatnihom district Chonburi. Poor lived with grandparents and aunt. Graduated from high school. He had many career such as a boxer, a singer and a composer until now.
   Chonlatee Thanthong is a sincere person ender-hearted, impatient, upright. Married with Mrs.Sasiwimol Thongma. She was teaching at Verasil school at Tambon Thamuang, The muang district Kanchanaburi. Currently residing at Baanthamuang kanchanaburi.
               Chonlatee Thanthong studied piano at Bangkok Music School with Suthin Thesarak. In a major of composer he recognized from music teachers from his generation. And a form of composer he got from Samneing Muangthong.


2. Music pieces in each pieces have correlation in A1,A2,A3 have a nature tune near repetition. A difference one is B1 in 6 songs. And 1 song a nature tune are in a form of A1 B1 B2 that music pieces antecedent and consequence. Starting tune in anacrusis and thesis. In music phrases have lyrics pieces and have from 1 piece to more pieces in 1 phrase most mainly in pentatonic scale. Found that using techniques are Retrograde, Variation, Pedal note, Passing note, Neighboring note.

3. Songs have composing lyrics match with tune – lyrics form are in poem. Adjustment tone marks , suitability of songs and Thai language in the same way.
