Learning Process of Community Development of Community Strengthening

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the community learning process for development of community strength 2) to study community participation for development of community strength and 3) to compare the community learning process and participation for development of community strength classified by gender, age, occupation, education level, and  long-term settlement in the community. The sample consisted of 131 households who lived in Ban Daw Reung Village moo 10, Plub Pla Sub-district, Muang District, Chanthaburi Province. The tool applied for the research was a questionnaires. The statistics used for data analysis included percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and One-way Analysis of Variance (One-way ANOVA).

The findings from the research revealed that 1) the overall of learning process for development of community strength was at a high level. 2) the community participation for development of community strength was at a moderate level. It was discovered that almost all of the aspects were at  moderate levels, except the participation in receiving benefits from development was at a high level. 3) The comparison between community learning process and participation for development of community strength classified by gender showed there was no statistically significant difference where as age, occupation, education level, and the period of living in the community showed statistically significant difference in learning process and participation for development of community strength at .01 level, while long-term settlement in the community indicated statistically significant difference at .05 level.
