Abstract

The study of factors related to entrepreneurial intention of student in faculty of Business Administration and Liberal Arts, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, Chiang Mai, is a survey research to study factors related to the intention to be entrepreneurs of a sample of 230 students. By using the proportional stratified random sampling and calculating the proportion of students studied in the final year from each department. The questionnaires with 0.856 of confidence were used for data collection and analyzed by statistical frequency, percentage, standard deviation, and Pearson's Product Moment Correlation Coefficient.

The result indicated that the three factors; attitude towards entrepreneurship, social norms, and self-efficacy, have a significant correlation between entrepreneurial intention (p <0.01). Social norms related to the entrepreneurial intention with the highest value (r = 0.495), followed by the attitude towards entrepreneurship  (r = 0.299) and perceived self-efficacy (r = 0.025). These factors had a positive relationship with the intention of being an entrepreneur which consistent with the research assumptions. There were interesting findings that the 107 samples (46.7%) were willing to start their own business within 5 years after graduated with no experience of owning a business from their family, relatives or close friends. This considered an important subject that is not consistent with the results of other studies and found that the careers of parents are the most influential factors and related to the intention of being an entrepreneur.
