THE DEVELOPMENT OF CREATIVE DRAMA TO ENHANCE THE SOCIAL INTERACTION OF YOUTH: A CASE STUDY OF YOUTH IN SUB-SIN 26-7 COMMUNITY BUILDING, KLONG TOEY, BANGKOK

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop and to compare the results of the used of creative drama activities to enhance the social interaction of youth in Sub-Sin 26-7 community building, Klong Toey. Applied with a sample of 20 youth, aged between 10 – 15 years old, use a purposive sampling. The research instruments were 1) Social interaction behavior test 2) the creative drama activities to enhance the social interaction of youth 3) Social interaction behavior observation. The result is found that; 1) The researcher has designed the principles of creative drama theories combined with interaction theories which takes 4 weeks period, 3 times a week, 60 minutes each time 2) The result of the used of creative drama activities to enhance the social interaction of youth found that social interaction behavior of the sample group before and after the experiment were significantly different at the 0.05 and the social interaction after the experiment was higher than before the experiment. The development of social interaction behavior in all aspects in descending order as follows: collaboration skills, communication skills, leadership skills and problem solving skills. The researcher found that the activity of role play not enough for the sample group. The activities should be used in the form of a competitive game to become more interested and enthusiastic.
