Abstract

The objectives of this research were to develop and to evaluate the application of Malay language lessons for Massive Open Online Course (Thai MOOC) for the public. The research target group were 30 students of Malay Language Teaching Program, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Yala Rajabhat University and more than 250 mass learners. The research tools consisted of 1) Malay language lesson assessment form for Thai MOOC, the pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire.

The study found that 1) the lesson efficiency was 80.37/81.83. The number of the students were 610 and 219 from them graduated with the specified criteria.  For the conclusion, more than 10% of the total students had passed the lesson. It was also found that most of the students were women from Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, Songkhla, Chiang Mai and Satun respectively. Their education was at a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Their occupations were students. Most of the students had studied Malay but had never studied Malay online before. They studied and registered the course because it was a part of the classroom learning, followed by interesting subjects. The vast majority of students enrolled were willing to pass the 60% criteria.
