Legal Measures for the Enforcement of the Motor Vehicle Act, B.E. 2522 (1979) Regarding Taxi-Type Public Vehicles

Abstract

          In this paper, the researcher examines the legal measures for the enforcement of the Motor Vehicle Act, B.E. 2522 (1979) regarding taxi-type public vehicles. This is to be aware of the problems and to determine approaches to solve such problems. These problems are the preliminary criteria in a request for approval for the registration of taxi-type public vehicles; the determination of the penalty in cases where drivers of taxi-type public vehicles use nonstandard vehicles; the determination of the penalty for the operators of taxi-type public vehicles allowing drivers without a taxi-type public vehicles license to drive and provide service; and the determination of the qualifications and prohibited characteristics of the drivers of taxi-type public vehicles. The researcher proposes that the Motor Vehicle Act, B.E. 2522 (1979) should be amended regarding taxi-type public vehicles.
