Abstract

This article aims to understand the imagination and thought of Chinese women nowadays to patriarchy, through analyzing the harem war drama. The study found that Chinese women still imagine that they are under patriarchy, even though China society has a high equality. Moreover, harem war drama also reflects women’s imagination about her career world that is very similar to harem world, while the image of elite’s family is reflected in the way of dystopia. A fictional narration of history reflects the desire of women to anti-traditional family system. Meanwhile, harem war drama is likely to defy the socialist government’s ideology and the social morality by revealing the radical competition and social class value.
