Abstract

This paper presents a new perspective in studying folklore and folkloristic through ecocriticism lens. Ecocriticism is the study of literature and the environment from an interdisciplinary point of view, where literature
scholars analyze texts that illustrate the link between nature and human and examine the various ways literature treats the subject of nature. The majority of folklores typically display the interrelation between
human and nature. Such connections can be found in folklore literature such as local proverbs, folktales, and legends. In addition, The study of folklore and folkloristic through ecocriticism perspective expands the direction of humanities study into the domain of cultural study. Therefore, The 'Green folklore' approach allows us to interpret and analyze familiar literature sources from an unexplored angle, which could yield new and meaningful
findings.
