Abstract
The historiographies has the important role in the politics of the Philippines from the colonial period to the present day. It was the main instrument for manufacturing the legitimacy of the Spain’s, America’s, and Japanese’s occupation and their colonial rule. Likewise, it was a major machine in creating a collective self-consciousness of the nationalist movement against the colonial powers
during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Currently in the post-colonial period, the project of national historiographies has remained
influential for the nation-building and the modern Filipino nation. Thereby, in this article, I attempt to outline the perspectival changes and the political powers of historiographies within the context of the Philippines’ history in order to understand a politicalhistory of the Philippines historiographies from the colonial age to the post-colonial period.
บทคัดย่อ
ประวัติศาสตร์นิพนธ์มีความส�าคัญอย่างยิ่งในทางการเมืองของหมู่เกาะฟิลิปปินส์มาตลอดทุกยุคทุกสมัยนับตั้งแต่สมัยการเข้ามาของอาณานิคมจนกระทั่งถึงปัจจุบัน เนื่องจากประวัติศาสตร์นิพนธ์ได้ถูกน�ามาใช้เป็นเครื่องมือกลไกทางการเมืองของระบอบอาณานิคมไม่ว่าจะเป็นระบอบอาณานิคมสเปนอเมริกัน และญี่ปุ่น ทั้งนี้ยังได้ถูกน�ามาใช้เป็นสื่อกลางในการคานอ�านาจ ต่อรอง ต่อเจ้าอาณานิคม รวมถึงสร้างพลังจิตส�านึกร่วมทางการเมืองในหมู่ชาวพื้นเมืองของหมู่เกาะฟิลิปปินส์ในช่วงปลายคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 19จนกระทั่งในยุคหลังอาณานิคม ประวัติศาสตร์นิพนธ์ก็ยังคงถูกน�ามาใช้เป็นเครื่องมือกลไกเพื่อใช้ในการรองรับการก่อตัวขึ้นของรัฐชาติฟิลิปปินส์สมัยใหม่ ดังนั้น บทความชิ้นนี้จึงพยายามน�าเสนอค�าอธิายและแสดงให้เห็นถึงการเปลี่ยนแปลงของโลกทัศน์ทางด้านประวัติศาสตร์นิพนธ์ รวมถึงประเด็นการต่อสู้ทางอุดมการณ์ และการช่วงชิงพื้นที่ทางประวัติศาสตร์นิพนธ์ฟิลิปปินส์ยุคอาณานิคมและโลกหลังอาณานิคม
