Perceived of Necessary Components for Organising Triathlon Events in Thailand

Abstract

                Sport Tourism is one of the popular type of tourism which is growing and continuously under the development in Thailand. Sport event is one of the important drivers of sport tourism. This research has an objective to access the level of Thai triathletes’ perceptions towards the sport event elements, destination attributes, event service quality of triathlon events in Thailand which are the indicator components of revisit intention to attend the events or destination organised the events. The sampling is 371 Thai triathletes who attended at least one triathlon event in Thailand. This research uses descriptive analysis to analyse the demographic profile, the behaviour of participating in sports events, and the level of perception. The result shows that sport event elements and destination attributes are perceived at good level whereas event service quality is perceived at very good level. Finally, the results of this research will benefit scholars and sports tourism enthusiasts, administrators and practitioners of area development, and sports event organizers, especially Triathlon events.
